$2.5M For Facility Expansion
May 2007

Thanks to the recently received grant of $2.5M from the Weingard Foundation, the Inner City Education Foundation (ICEF) will be able to expand its View Park Prep facilities to serve an enrollment of 1,200. The grant includes a challenge to raise an additional $3.6M against a total goal of $14.7M to support property acquisition, construction and renovation. Expansion plans include consolidating the elementary school campus with an additional 10 classrooms and building a science lab, classrooms, gymnasium and performing arts center at the middle and high schools, as well as adding college counseling services and faculty offices.  This expansion project will allow ICEF to add 400 seats at its current View Park Prep facilities and incubate new schools that will become part of the ICEF network of schools in its South Los Angeles education corridor.
